Remarks: Ponsford 649 and 650 are for a basically T-shaped, 2-story building, 9 classrooms, including kindergarten, and auditorium seating 300, 85 feet across by approximately 100 feet deep. Ponsford 651 is for a T-shaped, one-story, 8 classrooms building, including kindergarten, and an auditorium seating 300, approximately 161 feet across by approximately 70 feet deep. Both proposals appear to be of the same date and for the same commission. Our informant at the Senior Citizens’ Center told us that there was never a 2- story school in Hot Springs. Ponsford 651 may be a preliminary study for the Hot Springs Elementary School of 1923 (NMTRUTE.003).
