Remarks: The building appears to have been designed for a corner lot. There are three retail spaces on the first floor, and lodge rooms on the second. The existing Masonic Temple is smaller; the cornerstone is dated 1940. We presume these plans are part of an unsuccessful bid for the 1940 commission. The plans are drawn by the same hand as the Hot Springs Woman’s Club of 1938 (NMTRUTF.001).
Prepared for the El Paso Public Library by Lloyd C. and June F. Engelbrecht under a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, 1990
