The corner of Mesa and Franklin is designated as parking; the building location was one lot south. The building may have been intended for use as a grocery, among other uses, as a meat box is designated in the plans. The store fronts harmonize with, but do not duplicate, those of the neighboring Cortez Hotel to the South.
Prepared for the El Paso Public Library by Lloyd C. and June F. Engelbrecht under a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, 1990
