Remarks: George P. Hill was an Albuquerque architect who frequently assisted Trost & Trost. Since Hill is listed in many Albuquerque city directories from 1901 to 1922, but is listed in none after 1922, it is probable that the Albuquerque College rendering was made about 1922, or earlier, because Hill’s name is on it. There is no evidence that the Trost & Trost/George P. Hill rendering was utilized for actual construction. It is possible that the design was intended for the school which was known as University of Albuquerque.
Prepared for the El Paso Public Library by Lloyd C. and June F. Engelbrecht under a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, 1990.
